Countries that have legalized bhang in 2022

Introduction

Bhang is an ancient substance that has been used for thousands of years. The first recorded use of bhang was for religious purposes, consumed by Hindus as an offering to their gods.

However, the use of bhang spread beyond religious ceremonies and became popular among ordinary people.

It is said that Lord Shiva himself used bhang to increase his level of consciousness during meditation.

Bhang was introduced into the Western world by Hippies during the 60s and 70s who found it helpful in their spiritual quest for enlightenment.

Canada

Legalized bhang in 2018, making it the first country to legalize cannabis. The legalization of bhang is expected to increase its popularity among Canadians and thus provide a boost to its economy as well.

Bhang is widely available in Canada and can be easily purchased at any local dispensary. It comes in various forms, such as gummies, candies, lollipops, cakes, etc.

The Netherlands

The Netherlands decriminalized bhang in 2022. Now it is legal to possess and sell bhang in the country. The Dutch government regulates bhang sale, which is sold in coffee shops.

Bhang should not be confused with hashish, which has been legalized in many countries around the world, including Canada and some U.S states like Colorado, California, Alaska, and Nevada (where recreational use of marijuana was also legalized).

Hashish is made from the resin of certain types of cannabis plants that have been harvested at maturity and then compressed into blocks for more accessible storage and transport.

South Africa

South Africa has been the first African country to legalize bhang in 2022. South Africa is also the second country in the world to legalize bhang, after Canada (which legalized Bhang on May 31st, 2022).

Uruguay

Uruguay was the first country to legalize bhang in 2022. In February of that year, they legalized recreational and medicinal use of the drug.

It is legal to grow and sell Bhang in Uruguay. You can even buy it at some pharmacies. If you are caught with Bhang in Mexico, though, you could be fined or jailed for up to 5 years for possession, and if you're caught with more than 50 kilograms (110 pounds), or 1 kilogram (2 pounds) if this is your first offense, you could be sentenced as much as 15 years behind bars.

In Canada and every other country where bhang has been legalized so far except for Mexico and the United States (which only decriminalized marijuana use), cops are legally allowed to arrest people who possess amounts of weed greater than what's permitted by law but cannot arrest individuals simply because they have a joint on them while driving down an interstate highway.

Portugal

Portugal became the first EU country to legalize bhang in 2022. In 2002, Portugal decriminalized personal Bhang possession.

In 2013, the Portuguese Cannabis Social Club was founded as a non-profit organization of patients and consumers to provide easy access to medical marijuana for those needing it.

Spain

Spain legalized bhang in 2022, making it the first to legalize bhang. Spain was also the second country to legalize Bhang after Uruguay.

Conclusion

Almost 20 countries have legalized bhang in 2022, and nearly all of them are European countries.

The other countries that have legalized Bhang are Argentina, Canada, and Mexico, which also legalized it on January 20th, 2013.

Bhang is becoming legalized in more and more countries. Many people are now able to use this product for medical purposes in the comfort of their own homes. It is also a great way for people who want to relax or unwind after a stressful day at work.
